TRANSIENT RADIO DJS
Bobby Bucys
Bobby Bucys is a DJ that has music running through his veins. Bobby does not like to generalise his sound, taking inspiration from a wide range of genres: funk, balearic, jazz, disco, soul, dub, techno and house. Bobby has been DJ'ing, discovering and collecting vinyl for the past 25 years always hunting for new and old undiscovered sounds. "I love the freedom of playing different genres of music and making it all make sense". Bobby also loves to give opportunities to other undiscovered DJs who share the same passion for music and vinyl, often sharing and inviting them to play alongside him at his Summer day time residences. Bobby is also the driving force and head honcho of Transient radio "It's been a dream of mine for a while to create a station and platform for DJs who have incredible collections of music the chance to share it alongside more established international DJs".
Leroy Parris
Leroy’s musical journey and passion started as a young boy. Being the child of a young mother and only child for the first 12 years of his life, Leroy found himself surrounded by the music enjoyed by his relatives. He quickly became familiar with many legendary soul, dance and reggae tunes as these were a standard part of the ‘getting ready’ process for a night out in town. Leroy’s passion and enthusiasm for music and great artists only continued to grow and by his early teens, he made the decision to create his own collection of records. He played a few gigs in and around Ipswich and this soon confirmed he had definitely found his creative side.
The journey continues..
Mat Gould
Mat "matski" Gould has been buying and playing records for a large chunk of his life. The first record he bought was in 1982, George Clinton - Atomic Dog, and he still has it in his collection. Discovering the Street Sounds Electro series soon after was a pivotal moment, which was quickly followed by listening to hip-hop.
A few years later it was all about techno from Detroit and Europe, and then the bleep movement coming out of England. That led to hardcore, rave, and jungle/drum and bass.
All these genres, and lots more, still get bought and played today. To have the opportunity to play music that may be new for some, is a privilege and he hopes you enjoy it.
Marcus Harris AKA Suitdancer
Obsessed with synthesisers from an early age, Marcus has been making music since his childhood and deejaying since his teens. As one half production duo of Tone Control and under the “Suitdancer” solo projects he has continued to indulge his fascination with soulful electronic sounds, forging links with scene stalwarts in both London and Madrid where he spent many years cutting his teeth in the studio, playing live shows and DJ gigs. Now settled back in East Anglia, he continues to create and has joined the Transient Radio Family to share his lifelong love of sound.
Grinny
A champion of underground dance music in his local area for many years, Grinny favours deep grooves from across the electronic, house and boogie spectrum, playing records that are rich in personality and complex textures. His enthusiasm for music is infectious and stalwart. His long-running and much loved Hold Tight party, where he is resident DJ, has given a platform to many likeminded souls to play a wide range of music from dub and reggae to soul, garage and techno, creating a community of music lovers in the process. In recent years Grinny has been pursuing pure electronic sounds through his experimentation with modular synthesis, a wormhole from which he shows no sign of emerging any time soon.
